See Saw Politics of the Sri Lankan Government get themselves stuck in a Vishes Cycle
Sri Lanka, 6 - 21 - 2006: No plans to ban LTTE in Sri Lanka - Govt
This is the pathetic situation we are in today.
Sri Lankan Government's Approach
- Sri Lankan Government does not want to Ban LTTE,
- Sri Lankan Government does not want to attack LTTE either,
- Sri Lankan Government accepts that we have an ethnic problem in Sri Lanka,
- Sri Lankan Government does not know what is the ethnic problem that they are talking about.
- Sri Lankan Government wants to talk with LTTE to find out what is the problem that they face.
LTTE Terrorist's Approach
- LTTE Terrorists clearly say they want a Home Land.
- LTTE Terrorists clearly say that Discrimination is the problem they face and having a separate land is the ONLY solution.
- LTTE Terrorists clearly say that they already have a de facto state in north and east of Sri Lanka
- Ban or not, LTTE terrorists run its operations same as before.
Control Over Land
- Sri Lankan Government says that LTTE does not have a de-facto state in Sri Lanka
- Sri Lankan Government accepts that they do not have any control over the areas under LTTE control
Who represent Tamils
- LTTE Terrorists clearly say they represent all Tamils in Sri Lanka
- Sri Lankan Government says that LTTE is not the representative of tamils in Sri Lanka
- No Tamil party supports the present Government if they do not offer them ministerial posts.
What's going on for years and years
- LTTE Terrorists keep on targeting innocent Sinhalese people in south and north east of Sri Lanka.
- Every bomb they blast, more anti-tamil sentiment grows in South.
- Every bomb they blast, Tamils living in South feels uncomfortable and more and more discriminated.
- Which in turn helps LTTE terrorists to plan more and more attacks in south and northeast with the help of Tamils living with us in south.
Finally, How to Find Nemo?

Everyone who talk about this issue and highlight the fact of not having a solution gets labeled as an Extremist or a Bad Element. They will be labeled as the root-cause of the problem.
My question to you is, think carefully, decide by yourself, who are the extremists? Are the people who believe that no solution to this problem or the people who propose a solution whether it is one of the best/ near best option to break out from this vishes cycle.
Do not get stuck in the middle of this See Saw politics of our politicians. If you want your children to live happily without getting divided over racist lines, then come out and challenge the boundaries. Get ready to do some sacrifices today for the benefit of tomorrow.
For the sake of our country, do not label people who propose solutions as racists, culprits or extremists due to the fact of you not having a solution.
So at least, shall we start listening to the solutions and/or options we all Sri Lankans have and how to implement them other than what LTTE terrorists have proposed?

Janapathi,
I would like you to add some more to the below section..
Who represent Tamils?
- Tamils do not want to open the mouth because LTTE come and kill them.
- When a tamil open the mouth, then one of them help LTTE to kill that tamil. (ex: Mr. Lakshman Kadiragarmer)
That too is a 'Wishes Cycle'. Don't you think?
So what is the solution you propose, Janapathi? Two tablespoons of coconut a day?
There is nothing more in this world than been blind for thirty years with a scorpion in your shoe !!!
Well done Janapathi!
I added the links with some of my thoughts that could help towards a solution. Those are my thoughts only.
I've read many other proposals from various individuals and groups. Non from this government. So read the footnote of the above post.
Because of one comment here, I inserted links to some of my previous suggestions that I highlighted time to time.
Have a glance at this link.
"Stop Having Peace Talks if No Proper Agenda"
It happened long time back. So now you can decide how foolish it was..
Janapathi,
Brilliant post. The sad truth is, PA political henchaiya’s and LTTE sympathizers reading this post will definitely find this very uncomfortable.
Some UNP, JVP, JHU guys will take it to their benefit.
Not to forget the NGO mafia living from this war.
That is the issue here.
The nature of our country. You see the development work. Nothing done. Basically when nothing done, how we expect them to get-together and frame a proper plan. Even the peace talks they went (like you said, that post of yours is a classic) no one knew what the outcome was and what they talked. Only LTTE and Norway had the signed papers. Stupid enough.
Sometimes I feel the better solution is to give this country to Americans. They might like it due to the location of it. We will be able to at least develop it and get protected from these assholes who are killing us.
Ok man.. that's it from me.
Excellent work.
demel
years and years of a very sad story, you have explained very well. The finding nemo part will never happen.
Actually I heard they are going to appoint Mr. Nivad Ajith Cabral for the central bank governor. So he will take care of the already weak economy.
Reply to the first comment here..
- Tamils do not want to open the mouth because LTTE come and kill them.
Yes and No. How do we know which side they are? So far, the majority is very silent. That's all I know.
As a JHU member, I totally agree with you on this post. You have said the reality.
If anyone want to live in a dream world in colombo and say this is not true, then let them live. How many people more have to get killed for this politicians war? After coming to power, President also followed the same steps by sending his children to study in UK. That is exactly what CBK and Prabhakaran did.
We know we are just a minority. But we are proud to talk the truth than simply getting fooled by these politicians.
This is a political and NGO war.
To macaroni
So you are saying here that Mr. Cabral will not be a good governor for the central bank or what? Who was the good past Governor for central bank you can name? Mr. Cabral was asked to go for the peace talks. Not that he wanted. He never had any background of peace talks. Everyone knew it.
The above peace talk link of Janapathi is correct, but take out Mr. Cabral from it. He was just a participant. No one knew what to talk in that peace talk.
Norway and LTTE forced the government and as a result they formed a team, gave a very important name for the meeting and went for talks. Is that so difficlut to understand for you Macaroni?
As Janapathi say, from the start of that talk I do not think anyone knew what they are suppose to talk.
Government side, they were new to power and had to please the JVP and JHU partners. Remember, Mahinda came to power with the help of them. Lately, he sidelined them after consolidating his position.
We should not forget as a result of JHU and JVP partnership, Mahinda was labled as a hardliner by LTTE and BBC led news media. Can you see how it has changed over the time? Now do they call him a hardliner. It's called Politcs.
People like you always pick on something that you do not know.
Dk.. you can add ic to middle of your name.
who forced him to attend the peace talks? When you raed it now, it looks so funny, so you are trying to wash his ass. Did he pay you to do the washing up?
Mahinda did not come to power because of JVP and JHU.
If it is, then how come they got nothing in the recent elections?
It is otherway.
Mahinda used them to say the extreme things that he himself can not openly tell in public. LTTE knew it. That is why they labeled him as a hard-liner. JVP used the situation expecting that it can workout for their longterm benefit. anyway both JVP and JHU always wants to attack UNP. So they had no option other than getting aligned with Mahinda.
Politics or blogs or forums or meetings, no one can agree or compromise on anything. People do not understand to respect each other views. DK and Macaroni above and most of the time in indi’s blog with you janapathi vs indi and others all are good examples. why you have to fight and let others down on internet?
I really like your analysis and the way you put things by using examples.
Hi, dk, macaroni
I'm not going to publish your last 4 comments hitting at each other. This is not the place for that.
If disagree with another comment, then please explain with facts.
Thanks
Janapathi
You say two things I disagree with.
* Sri Lankan Government does not want to attack LTTE either,
How can you say this when the Sri Lankan Army, supported by the Karuna Faction and the Indian Intelligence have been assassinating LTTE leaders all throughout the ceasefire?
* LTTE Terrorists clearly say they want a Home Land.
Where have they said this? Infact all the latest statements made by the LTTE have made it very clear that they are interested in talking about autonomy with in a united Sri Lanka. What they don't want is a unitary state. I would suggest you first try to undertand the difference between United and Unitary.
