Another very good move.
May be the govt should make it compulsory for all who have rented houses to any tamil national to get a police clearance certificate from the nearest police station.
Considering the situation in
No one should trust these people. They may be driving a BMW or living in a palace. We never know where the hell the money comes from and for what they are using them for. So let’s understand the situation and implement much needed controls like this.
We should have hotlines to report any suspected person living near us or working with us in our companies. Some might even report false names etc. Doesn't matter. We should clean and shave all LTTE links living with us in south first, no matter who they are.

there are lots of you kind of sinhalees have suported LTTE. you need example - Minister Mithripala Sirisena assasinate ( attamed) main suspect was a sinhala person. will the autorites have taken his entier famil in to custody......
Getting all Tamils a Police clearance is an infringement of Human Rights.
By doing this it will only encourage the terrorists.
Doing this will make them look like criminals.
Then if this is done all sinhalese should also take police clearance sine they may be JVP.
Doing this will only further fuel terrorism.
I don’t think this will ever happen in Sri Lanka. It is not required either. But it is always good to improvement intelligence and police work. No doubt about it.
In the other hand, any government in the world never gives back any rights they taken from people. In long run it can be risky to every citizen. Who knows – once the chair thrown out what can happen to the table?
Also expand police work is not a good idea without improving the capability of the police. Right now police even do not have a cop to guard the police station at night.
But any case if that happen, I’m pretty sure all the decent Tamil people who do not have luxury of leaving the country ~ true Sri Lankan citizens, will support that even it is hard burden on them.
But others, have one leg in Sri Lanka and other leg in Europe or Canada & others have not spend more than 3 month in Sri Lanka but pay 50$ monthly donation to LTTE… will have big BIG problems.
