In the 'bullshit talks' opening statement our Mr. Minister Nimal S said that the Peace Agreement is not comply with our constitution. I was thinking whether he did a blunder by saying so? May be it has to be corrected as the PTOM agreement, which was rejected by the constitutional court of Sri Lanka.

If this is the case, I think it is a serious mistake done by our Mr. Minister. Either he has to come forward and apologize for this mistake or else he has to explain what he said.
People do mistakes and I do not see any issue in it. But the concern is, how many people read this speech before Mr. Minister? I am still not sure whether Mr. Minister's statement is correct or not? If it's not, it is good for the government to come forward now than later.

LTTE is headed by a brutal dictator and a fugitive hiding and escaping from the Indian judicial system.

So do not fall to this trap. Keep the terrorists and other tiger sympathizers talking for another 10 years. I do not think they can hope for longer life expectancy given the shitty conditions they live in wanni over the years and also considering the extremely frustrated, brainwashed minds they have.

We all should understand the fact that after Pranhakaran, No LTTE. We went through this for years. We could not catch this basted. So let us wait like this for a few more years. Let them be more frustrated. Aging, frustration and living in shitty conditions are among the main reasons for heart attacks.

This is yet another example of the extent that the developed countries are willing to go when its comes to allowing foreign investors to take control of strategic industries. We witnessed a similar situation with the recent acquisition bid for Arcelor by the Mittal Steel.
It is important for countries like Sri Lanka to understand the developed countries who cry for privatization of our local industries does not do the same in their own backyards. They give priority to local industries and consider the impact to the national security.

Sometimes I feel that it is too late for Sri Lanka. We have done the damage already by privatizing our 3 key strategic national assets. The most critical of all are the privatization of the Sri Lanka Telecom, Petroleum and the Sri Lankan Airlines. It is not always the profits what matters. I am not saying that other privatization projects were not in favor of Sri Lanka. In my opinion, we should not have privatized the above entities. Instead, we should have privatized the management or trained the employees or find other alternatives.

Otherwise we will have to live like tenants in our own homeland.

Last Sunday I watched this movie. Let me be open. I feel very uneasy in front of gay, lesbian people. My wife always point this as one of my weaknesses. She is very open minded when it comes to the subject of homosexuality, whereas I am living in the 18th century. So at last, after many requests, I agreed to go and watch this movie with her.

I still do not know what to say about this movie. I watched it thinking that both actors are gay. But I was wrong. A good example, why they are called 'Actors' :). A class performance.
Other than that, I do not have comments. The society has changed and we have to accept these facts. If you are uneasy in front of gay people, I strongly recommend this movie. Remember to share your thoughts on this. Am I the only one who is feeling uneasy?

Sri Lanka, 2 - 16 - 2006: Released S.B. Dissanayake to address the public tomorrow

Feb 16, Colombo: Released former UNP Parliamentarian S.B. Dissanayake will address a public rally at Viharamahadevi Park tomorrow.

Dissanayake, who was released yesterday on a special amnesty by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is still at the Merchant Ward at the Welikada Prison and will leave it tomorrow, sources said.

President Rajapaksa offered amnesty to Mr. Dissanayake by his powers under clause 84-1 C of the Constitution. This amnesty is only for the period of imprisonment and other punishments meted out remain effective. Hence, Mr. Dissanayake’s civil rights will not be restored as he had been imprisoned as a Member of Parliament for more than six months.

Mr. Dissanayake was found guilty of insulting the Supreme Court and was sentenced to two years of imprisonment. He was due to be released in December this year.

If Selvam ready to face the truth then pay a visit to Tamilnadu India and see how your Tamil people get treated in India compared to the way most of the Tamils live in Colombo Sri Lanka having a fair representation in the Sri Lankan parliament and also doing very successful business with the Sinhalese people. Do you have any problem with that?

Lets say in your dreams you got a homeland in Tamilnadu India. Is Prabhakaran ready to come out from his shit hole and spend time in Indian jail for assassinating Mr Rajiv Gandhi? Look man.. just come and enjoy life. Do not be childish and go on talking of a homeland in a country that has a proud history. If you can not live in Sri Lanka like a Sri Lankan, then please pack your bags and go bag to your homeland in India. Let the tamil people live like the way they live with us in colombo.

In an interview with Reuters, LTTE political head S.P. Thamilchelvan said the future was “totally dependent on the outcome of this meeting.

“It’s very unfortunate that we have to go back four years and again speak of implementation. Frustration, restlessness, anger, all are there. But we are people who believe in the use of political civilization,” he said.

Referring to President Rajapaksa’s recent rejection of the LTTE’s separate state policy, Mr. Thamilchelvan said, “Mahinda Rajapaksa’s statement seems to us very childish and not with the ground reality, We don't believe that that kind of childish statement will help resolve a conflict of this nature.

“Any solution to the Tamil national problem should involve the concept of a Tamil homeland, nationhood and the right of self-determination and provide the people with a dignified solution,” he said."
